Pedestrian Fatalities in Orange County

Increasing numbers of pedestrians are being killed or injured when struck by automobiles in California. California is seeing a rise in the number of pedestrians seriously injured or killed due to this issue.

In reality, California’s number of pedestrians killed by cars grew by 25% between 2014 and 2018, with almost 900 documented fatalities.

California pedestrians should prepare for increased risk and remain cautious near autos. Pedestrians are particularly at risk for severe injury or death since there is little they can do to avoid being struck by a vehicle unexpectedly. Nonetheless, pedestrians may attempt to keep themselves safe by taking certain measures and following some safety advice. The advice below may prove to be very useful:

  • If you must walk at night, wear reflective clothing and carry a flashlight.
  • Make sure you stay on the sidewalk at all times.
  • Don’t assume drivers notice you or will stop for you until you make eye contact with them.
  • Take note of your immediate environment.
  • Follow the rules of the road.

You may be entitled to financial compensation if you or a loved one were harmed or died in a pedestrian accident. Legal action against the at-fault party may help you find closure for your loss and alleviate the financial strain caused by your loved one’s death. You should contact a lawyer immediately since insurance companies have severe filing deadlines.
