Anaheim, CA – UPDATE: Cecilia Villalobos Identified in Deadly Two-Car Wreck on 10 Fwy at Haugen-Lehmann Way

Anaheim, CA (May 16, 2023) – On Monday, troopers with the California Highway Patrol revealed that Cecilia Villalobos, 31, of Anaheim, was one of three persons who died in a car crash on Sunday, May 14.

Two other passengers, an 8-year-old girl, and a 12-year-old girl, were traveling in the same Chevrolet Suburban and were also killed.

At about 7:25 a.m., the Suburban and a Tesla were involved in an accident in the eastbound lanes of the 10 Freeway, west of Haugen-Lehmann Way. Officer Jason Montez, a spokesperson for the California Highway Patrol, claimed that all nine persons traveling in the Suburban were related.

The six survivors all sustained injuries but are expected to recover. The Tesla driver was not hurt in the incident.

As of Monday afternoon, authorities still hadn’t determined what had caused the crash, but an investigation remains active.

Our deepest condolences go out to the families of Cecilia Villalobos and the deceased children. Our thoughts are with all other injured victims and their families in hopes of their full recovery.

Fatal Car Accidents in California

In its 2019 annual traffic statistics, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported 3,606 fatal motor vehicle incidents and 3,316 automobile accidents. In 2019, only Texas had more fatalities (3,615) due to 3,294 fatal collisions. In addition, based on data from the previous four years, there were 3,606 fatal vehicle incidents in California in 2019, 3,798 in 2018, 3,884 in 2017, and 3,836 in 2016.

Even if you do not believe you were seriously injured in a car accident, you should always be examined at a local hospital or by a qualified medical professional. Sadly, even an apparently minor injury can significantly impact a person’s life if it is not correctly treated. Unfortunately, many accident victims choose not to seek medical care for their injuries. What’s more, these individuals are then denied the opportunity to eventually submit a personal injury claim and receive just compensation for their suffering.

Needless to say, collision-related injuries may substantially impact the victim’s general health and well-being. Accidents frequently result in cuts and bruises, but the injuries that are directly attributable to the incident are almost always much more severe. If you or a member of your family has been injured in a car accident, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us so we can determine if you are eligible for financial compensation.
