Fresno, CA – One Killed in Multi-Vehicle Rollover Crash on HWY 41
Fresno, CA (September 17, 2022) – On Thursday morning, September 15, a multi-vehicle crash was reported in Fresno that killed one person and injured one other.
According to officials, the accident occurred just after 8 a.m. on Highway 41 near the Tesoro Viejo area. The accident occurred when a pickup truck was trying to merge or pass traffic in the northbound lane of Highway 41 when it collided with a Toyota sedan. As a result of the impact, the Corolla was propelled into the oncoming lane of traffic where it was hit head-on by a BMW that was traveling southbound on Highway 41.
Emergency personnel was called to the scene. The driver of the Corolla suffered very severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the accident scene. The driver of the BMW was also critically injured and was airlifted to the hospitable for emergency treatment. The driver of the pickup truck was not injured in the accident.
Police are still investigating the exact circumstances surrounding the crash. The accident caused the area to be shut down for many hours as crews tended to the victims, cleared the accident, and conducted their preliminary investigation.
