Car Accidents in California

In the aftermath of a car accident, it’s important to do several things:

1.    If physically able, document information while at the scene about the accident (i.e. make, model, color, license plate number of the vehicles involved)

2.    Call the police as soon as possible, so they can record the accident and investigate

3.    Get the names and contact information of any witnesses (this information can be given to the police when they arrive)

4.    Seek immediate medical attention. Some injuries are not noticeable right away, so it is important to be checked out by a medical professional to determine if you may need further treatments.

5.    Report the accident to your own insurance company

6.    Don’t give a recorded statement to the insurance company. It’s too easy for their attorneys to lead you into saying something that may weaken your case inadvertently.

7.    Contact a car accident attorney

A car accident can cause major disruptions to your normal life, including new financial worries, from medical expenses to vehicle repairs or replacement, and many other possible expenses. Especially if you’re injured in the accident, you may be worried about how you will pay for your medical care, expenses, and lost wages if you can’t work for a period of time. Depending on the circumstances of your accident, you may be entitled to compensation from those who were at fault.

Thinking about your car accident and dealing with the insurance company and their lawyers can cause you to feel overwhelmed. A trusted car accident lawyer can help you move past these feelings and help you regain control, by helping you file a claim against the party at fault. There are many types of claims available to attorneys to receive compensation on your behalf for your injuries and suffering. Some of the possible claims include negligence or liability claims against those at-fault, personal injury protection or med pay claims, uninsured or underinsured motorist claims, or even product liability claims. An experienced attorney will help choose the best options for the circumstances of your case that will help you receive the most compensation.

If you or a family member were in a car accident caused by someone else’s negligence you should speak to an experienced car accident lawyer right away. Contact a Glendale car accident attorney by calling (888) 539-3154 to see how we can help you.
