Huntington Beach, CA – Man Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Yorktown Ave

Huntington Beach, CA (April 16, 2022) – On Thursday evening, April 14, a man was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident in Huntington Beach.

According to police, the accident happened around 4:58 p.m. on Yorktown Avenue around the area of Newland Street. When officials arrived at the scene, they found that a man in his 70s was crossing the street in the area when he was suddenly struck by a passenger vehicle that did not see him in time. The driver of the vehicle, who was in a gray vehicle, fled the scene without stopping.

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The elderly pedestrian was rushed to the hospital with traumatic injuries but he was tragically pronounced deceased while there.

The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.

No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
