Irvine, CA – Officer Injured in Car Crash at Jamboree Rd & Campus Dr Intersection
Irvine, CA (June 18, 2022) – Before midnight on Friday night, June 17, an officer was injured in a car accident at an intersection in Irvine.
According to Irvine Police officials, the accident happened at the intersection of Jamboree Road and Campus Drive. Police confirmed that a BMW was traveling in the area and making a turn at the intersection. It suddenly slammed into the driver’s side of a Honda that was also traveling through the intersection. Both vehicles sustained heavy damages due to the collision.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. An officer who was inside the Honda sustained injuries as a result of the accident. The officer was taken to the hospital for treatment. The driver of the BMW, as well as her male passenger, were treated at the scene with injuries but are expected to recover.
The roadway was blocked at the intersection for an extended period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
