Irvine, CA – Woman Dies in Two-Vehicle Wreck on Irvine Blvd at Sand Canyon Ave

Irvine, CA (June 4, 2023) – A woman was reportedly killed in a two-vehicle collision in Irvine on Saturday night, June 3.

At 5:50 p.m. on Irvine Boulevard just east of Sand Canyon Avenue, a collision occurred, as reported by Irvine Police Sergeant Karie Davies.

Upon their arrival at the site of the incident, officers discovered that a white BMW 430i and a gold Lexus RX300 collided in a broadside accident, Davies noted. The BMW had the driver and four passengers, whereas the Lexus had the driver.

According to the sergeant, a 47-year-old female passenger riding inside of the BMW was declared dead shortly after being taken to the hospital.

Davies said that two other BMW occupants were also brought to local hospitals for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

She said the Lexus driver stayed at the site and was helping investigators. There was no evidence that drugs or alcohol had a role in the accident.

The Major Accident Investigation Team with the Irvine Police Department is in charge of the investigation.

We want to extend our deepest condolences to the deceased woman’s family. Our thoughts go out to the injured victims and their families. We hope for their complete recovery.
