Fatal Car Accidents in California

Southern California is one of the busiest and most dangerous metropolitans in the country. In California, more than 3,500 people die in traffic accidents each year. Traffic-related fatalities have increased steadily over the years. In 2022, reports indicate that more than 1,000 people have died in fatal traffic accidents in just the first three months alone.

Reckless driving is the number one cause of accidents in California and the country. There are many reckless activities that drivers engage in, including texting while driving, speeding, impaired driving, or failing to yield or stop at traffic lights and stop signs. Research indicates that more than one-third of all road fatalities in the US are caused by reckless driving. Each driver on the road owes a duty of care to the other drivers that they will operate their vehicle safely and responsibly. Failing to do so opens up the reckless driver to liability for any resulting injuries and harm they caused by their failure to act responsibly.
