Laguna Niguel, CA (July 10, 2022) – Around 1:30 a.m. on the morning of Saturday, July 9, a hit-and-run pedestrian crash took place in Laguna Niguel.

According to California Highway Patrol officials, the accident happened on the Crown Valley Parkway around the area of Golden Lantern. A woman was walking in the area when she started to cross the street in the area. She was struck by a vehicle that was later identified by witnesses as a possible Subaru Forester. The driver fled the scene without stopping to check on the pedestrian.

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian, who has since been identified as a 24-year-old local woman, was severely injured and rushed to the hospital. She has since been listed in critical condition at the hospital.

Police did not say if the driver of the vehicle who fled the scene has been found as of yet. The roadway was blocked in multiple lanes in the area of the accident.

No further details have been released but police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
