Long Beach, CA – Worker Dies in Industrial Accident on Mediterranean Way

Long Beach, CA (January 16, 2022) – A man was killed in a fatal workplace accident that occurred in Long Beach on Saturday afternoon, January 15.

According to the Long Beach Police Department, an industrial accident happened around 3:45 p.m. at 300 Mediterranean Way. Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene where they found one worker severely injured but have not yet commented on the circumstances that led to the accident. Authorities say it took place near the Port of Long Beach in the industrial section.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The victim, who has not yet been identified, was tragically pronounced deceased at the scene due to traumatic injuries. It is not known if anyone else was hurt in the accident.

The area was blocked off for a period of time due to the nature of the accident.

No further details have been released at this time but the investigation remains ongoing. Long Beach Police will update as more information becomes available.
