Mission Viejo, CA – Hit-and-Run Accident with Injuries in SB Lanes of I-5
Mission Viejo, CA (January 18, 2022) – Injuries were reported in a hit-and-run accident that took place on a major highway in Mission Viejo on Tuesday, January 18.
According to California Highway Patrol officials, the accident happened at 3 p.m. in the southbound lanes of I-5 around the area of Oso Parkway. Two vehicles were traveling in the area when they suddenly collided with each other due to reasons that are not yet known. One of the vehicles fled the scene of the crash.
Numerous responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those with injuries. One or more people inside the vehicle that remained at the scene sustained injuries. The parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment, though their conditions are not yet known.
Southbound lanes of traffic were blocked in the area for an extended period of time as police worked to clear the scene.
