Mission Viejo, CA – One Injured in Two-Vehicle Collision on 5 Fwy

Mission Viejo, CA (May 11, 2022) – One person was injured in a two-vehicle collision that took place on a highway in Mission Viejo on Wednesday morning, May 11.

According to local officials with the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at 11:44 a.m. in the southbound lanes of the 5 Freeway around the area of Crown Valley Parkway. Police confirmed that two vehicles were traveling in the area when they forcefully collided due to reasons that are not yet known. This caused one of the vehicles to overturn in the middle of the road.

Several local responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One person, who has not yet been identified, was injured in the collision. The party was rushed to the hospital for treatment. Their condition is not yet known.

Due to the severity of the collision, the roadway was blocked in the area for at least an hour. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
