North Tustin, CA – Elderly Woman Injured in DUI Accident on Holt Ave
North Tustin, CA (July 7, 2022) – An elderly woman sustained serious injuries in a DUI accident that happened in North Tustin on Wednesday night, July 6.
According to California Highway Patrol officials, the accident happened at 14100 Holt Avenue around the area of Vanderlip Avenue at 10:54 p.m. A white Nissan was traveling in the area when the driver T-boned a black Ford sedan. Both of the vehicles sustained extensive damage as a result of the accident.
Numerous responders, including North Tustin paramedics and fire crews, were immediately dispatched to the scene. The driver of the Ford, identified as an elderly female, was trapped inside her vehicle and had to be rescued by fire crews. She was then rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the Nissan was not injured in the collision. They were arrested at the scene with DUI charges.
The roadway was blocked in several lanes of traffic in the area of the intersection for an extended period of time.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the collision remains ongoing.
