Newport Beach, CA – Woman Killed in Fatal Accident on San Joaquin Hills Rd
Newport Beach, CA (June 13, 2022) – A woman and her dog were killed in a fatal accident that took place at a Newport Beach intersection on Sunday night, June 12.
According to Newport Beach Police, the accident happened around 8 p.m. at the intersection of San Joaquin Hills Road and Newport Ridge Drive. Two vehicles were traveling in the area when they allegedly entered the intersection at the same time, forcefully colliding with each other. One of the vehicles immediately became engulfed in flames.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other local responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. A woman and her dog were pronounced dead at the scene. In the other vehicle, two children sustained major injuries and were rushed to local hospitals for treatment. It is not believed that anyone else sustained injuries in the accident.
Due to the severity of the accident, a large portion of the road was blocked at the intersection for some time.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
