Orange, CA – Fatal Hit-and-Run Accident in SB Lanes of I-5 Fwy
Orange, CA (April 29, 2022) – One person was killed in a fatal hit-and-run accident that took place on a highway in Orange on Friday morning, April 29.
According to California Highway Patrol officials, the accident happened around 5:30 a.m. in the southbound lanes of the I-5 Freeway around the area of SR-22. Police found that the driver of a silver Toyota Corolla was traveling in the area when their vehicle was struck by another. The Corolla then ran into the left shoulder wall, which led to extensive damages. The other driver fled the scene without stopping.
Several local responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The driver of the Toyota, who has not yet been identified, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to severe injuries.
The roadway was blocked in southbound lanes of traffic for some time until police cleared the scene. Police did not say if they found the other driver responsible for the accident.
