Orange, CA – Man Killed in Major Car Accident at N Tustin St & Taft Ave

Orange, CA (May 23, 2022) – According to California Highway Patrol officials, a fatal accident happened at an intersection in Orange, California, on Friday night, May 20.

Police confirmed that the accident happened before 10:30 p.m. at the intersection of North Tustin Street and Taft Avenue. A black Porsche 911 was making a left turn at the intersection while the driver of a Kia Soul ran the red light at the intersection. This caused the Kia to T-bone the Porsche. Both of the involved vehicles were heavily damaged in the collision.

Several emergency responders, including fire crews and paramedics, were called to the scene to help those in need. The driver of the Porsche, who has only been identified as an adult male, was traumatically injured and pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Kia, who has not yet been identified, was also hospitalized with critical injuries. Police believe that the driver of the Kia may have been under the influence at the time of the collision.

The roadway was blocked at the intersection for an extended period of time as police worked to clear the scene.

No further details have been released at this time. The California Highway Patrol continues its investigation into the accident.
