Orange, CA – Three Killed in Fatal Rollover Accident on Glassell St Near Taft Ave

Orange, CA (July 9, 2022) – Three people were killed in a fatal rollover accident that took place on Saturday morning, July 9, in Orange.

According to Orange County officials, the accident happened on Glassell Street around the area of Taft Avenue. Police confirmed that a traffic stop was initiated in the area. A Nissan Altima started to speed southbound when the driver lost control due to unknown reasons. The vehicle slammed into several guardrails on the side of the road and then struck a light at a railroad crossing. The vehicle rolled over, which caused extensive damages and multiple ejections of the individuals inside the vehicle.

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. Out of the victims who were ejected from the vehicle, two men and a woman were tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries. Four people were rushed to the hospital for treatment, three of which had critical injuries. Two of these victims were identified as juveniles.

The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time. Police confirmed that the driver was under the influence at the time of the accident, though it is not known if any charges have been brought at this time.

No further details have been released but police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the collision.
