San Juan Capistrano, CA – One Injured in Serious Car Accident on I-5 Fwy
San Juan Capistrano, CA (June 12, 2022) – One person was injured in a serious car accident that took place in San Juan Capistrano on Friday morning, June 10.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 11:57 a.m. in the northbound lanes of the I-5 Freeway around the area of Camino Capistrano. Several vehicles were traveling in the area when they became involved in a chain-reaction crash due to reasons that are not fully known. The involved vehicles were badly damaged as a result of the collision.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One person, who has not yet been identified, was injured in the collision. The injured party was rushed to the hospital for treatment of their injuries, though their condition is not known at this time.
At least two lanes on the highway were blocked for an extended period of time following the collision. Police quickly worked to clear the scene but, as of 12:15 p.m., lanes were still blocked.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
