Santa Ana, CA – Critical Pedestrian Accident Results in Fatality on W 1st St
Santa Ana, CA (June 5, 2022) – Around 8:27 p.m. on the night of Sunday, June 5, a pedestrian accident with critical injuries and one fatality took place in Santa Ana.
According to Santa Ana Police, the accident happened at 4700 West 1st Street. Two pedestrians were allegedly walking in the area when they started to cross the street. They were suddenly struck by a westbound vehicle. The driver who was in the vehicle remained at the scene to cooperate with the police.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other local responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One of the pedestrians was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to severe injuries. A second pedestrian was critically injured and rushed to the hospital. Nobody inside the vehicle sustained injuries in the accident.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene so traffic could return to normal.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
