Santa Ana, CA – Fatal Bicycle Crash at W 1st St & N Figueroa St Intersection
Santa Ana, CA (February 21, 2022) – One person lost their life in a fatal bicycle crash that took place at an intersection in Santa Ana on Monday evening, February 21.
According to local officials, the accident happened at 7 p.m. at the intersection of West 1st Street and North Figueroa Street. When police arrived at the scene, they found that a silver van struck a male adult who was riding a yellow bicycle through the intersection. The accident caused severe damage to the bicycle.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The bicyclist, who has not yet been formally identified, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to severe injuries. The driver of the van was not injured.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for a period of time.
