Santa Ana, CA – Auto-Pedestrian Accident Takes One Life on SR-55
Santa Ana, CA (May 22, 2022) – A woman was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident that took place in Santa Ana on Saturday morning, May 21.
According to local officials, the accident happened around 1:08 a.m. in the northbound lanes of SR-55 around the area of 17th Street. Authorities responded to the scene after they received calls that a woman was struck by a gray Chevrolet Silverado and was down in the lanes. The driver of the Silverado immediately pulled over after striking her.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. They discovered that a female, identified only as an adult woman in a hoodie, was lying on the road after the accident. She was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries.
Due to the severity of the accident, three lanes of traffic were blocked in the area for an extended period of time.
