6/12 San Juan Capistrano, CA – One Injured in Serious Car Accident on I-5 Fwy

Santa Ana, CA – Injuries Reported in Multi-Vehicle Crash on 55 FWY

Santa Ana, CA (December 7, 2022) – On Monday morning, December 5, a multi-vehicle crash that injured many people was reported in Santa Ana.

According to reports, the accident occurred on the southbound lanes of the 55 Freeway, just north of MacArthur Boulevard in Santa Ana. The accident happened around 7:45 a.m. in the HOV lane of the freeway. It is reported that a Nissan and a Honda civic merged into the HOV lane and collided with each other. After the initial collision, the cars collided with three additional vehicles.

Emergency personnel was immediately called. Paramedics arrived on the scene within minutes and tended to the injured. Multiple people were hurt in the crash. However, at this time, there is limited information as to the number of people injured and the extent of their injuries. Tow trucks were required to remove the vehicles from the scene.

The force of the impact caused major damage to the vehicles, blocked the roadway, and caused traffic to be backed up. Traffic was diverted while crews helped people from their cars, tended to injuries, and cleaned up the wreckage.

Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Our thoughts are with the victims injured in this accident. We hope for their full recovery.

Car Accidents in California

California is the most populated state in the country. It is one of the most congested and dangerous places to drive. Every day roads are flooded with traffic, which causes long commutes and traffic jams. Car accidents also happen every day in California and may result in serious injuries.

Some of the many collisions that happen on California’s roads each day involve multiple vehicles. When traveling on the freeways, you often see some drivers weaving in and out of traffic through all the congestion to get to their destinations. These inpatient and speeding drivers can seem to come out of nowhere and can easily cause a collision. What starts as a two-vehicle collision can quickly escalate to a multi-car pile-up. When multiple vehicles are involved in an accident, the outcomes can be devastating, resulting in serious injuries or fatalities. Other factors that increase the likelihood of multi-vehicle collisions include:

  • Tailgating
  • High speeds
  • Changing lanes without signaling
  • Changing lanes too quickly
  • Blind spots
  • Stopping suddenly
  • Inclement weather
  • Merging traffic
