Santa Ana, CA – One Injured in Train Collision at E Wilshire Ave

Santa Ana, CA (March 1, 2022) – One person was injured in a train collision involving a vehicle that took place in Santa Ana on Monday evening, February 28.

According to local officials, the accident happened on the railroad tracks around the area of 1800 East Wilshire Avenue at 5 p.m. An SUV was traveling in the area when it started to cross over the railroad tracks in the area. It was suddenly struck by a Metrolink train traveling through the area that was unable to stop in time. The front of the vehicle was crushed as a result of the collision.

Several responders, including local paramedics and fire crews, were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One person inside the SUV, who has not yet been identified, was injured in the accident but is expected to recover. None of the passengers on the train were hurt.
