Pedestrian Accidents in California

Pedestrian accidents happen more commonly in California than in many other places in the U.S. In just 2018 alone, it was reported that approximately 893 pedestrians were killed in fatal pedestrian accidents, which was about a 26% increase from 2014. Drivers are supposed to always look out for the well-being of pedestrians on our roads, as they are some of the most at-risk parties. However, this does not always happen. Some drivers engage in the following reckless acts that lead to pedestrian collisions:

  • Driver distractions
  • Drunk or drugged driving
  • Speeding
  • Falling asleep at the wheel
