Santa Ana, CA – Pedestrian Dies in Hit-and-Run Crash on Main St
Santa Ana, CA (April 24, 2023) – On Monday, April 24, a car struck and killed a pedestrian in Santa Ana before fleeing the scene.
Sgt. Maria Lopez, a spokeswoman for the Santa Ana Police Department, said that the man was crossing North Main Street in the 2700 block when he was struck by a car traveling northbound.
Police discovered the man at around 5:30 a.m. after they received a call from witnesses. EMTs also rushed to the scene but pronounced the man dead before he could be taken to an area hospital.
The police have not released his name as of yet. Officers added that the suspect was in a white four-door Kia Optima, a 2016 to 2018 model.
Anyone with additional knowledge was requested to contact the police. The SAPD is still investigating in the interim.
