Santa Ana, CA – Three Children Involved in Pedestrian Crash on Keller Ave
Santa Ana, CA (May 24, 2022) – Three children were injured in a pedestrian accident that took place in Santa Ana on Monday morning, May 23.
According to Santa Ana Police, the accident happened around 8:23 a.m. at 500 Keller Avenue in front of the Taft Elementary School. When officials arrived at the scene, they found that three children were walking in the area when they were struck by the driver of a passenger vehicle. The driver was armed with a knife and reportedly attempted to harm himself when police arrived at the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The three children were injured as a result of the accident. The parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment, though their conditions are not yet known. The driver of the vehicle that struck the children was also hospitalized.
Police discovered multiple devices in the driver’s vehicle that are used to start fires. They also found that the driver was trespassing on the school campus and was escorted off before the accident happened.
The roadway was blocked in the area for a short period of time as police worked to clear the scene.
