Fatal Pedestrian Accidents in Orange County

California authorities report that pedestrians account for over a quarter of all road deaths in the state. According to 2020 statistics from the organization, at least 6,500 pedestrians were killed in road incidents throughout the nation, an increase of roughly 4% from the year before.

Additionally, hit-and-run drivers account for approximately a fifth of all pedestrian fatalities. Hit-and-run drivers responsible for pedestrian deaths in California risk ten years or more in jail, as reported by the California Highway Patrol.

Other causes of deadly accidents include driving while impaired and driving while distracted.

Obviously, pedestrians in California need to be aware of and cautious around moving automobiles. A pedestrian’s vulnerability to serious injury or death stems from the fact that there is nothing they can do to escape a sudden collision with a vehicle. However, pedestrians may reduce their risk of being involved in one of these tragic accidents by maintaining vigilance and paying attention to their surroundings.

But if a loved one was hurt or died in a pedestrian accident, you may be entitled to file a claim for financial compensation. Bringing justice by making the responsible person pay for your loved one’s death may help you get beyond their loss and ease the financial strain it has created. You should contact a lawyer immediately since insurance companies have severe filing deadlines.
