Tustin, CA – Rollover Accident Leads to Injuries on SR-55
Tustin, CA (March 6, 2022) – One person was seriously injured in a rollover accident that took place in Tustin on Sunday morning, March 6.
Tustin officials confirmed that the accident happened around 1:47 a.m. in the northbound lanes of SR-55 around the area of Edinger Avenue. When officials arrived at the scene, they found that a silver Toyota 4Runner collided with a black Lexus sedan. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged but police did not confirm the exact circumstances leading up to the accident.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The driver of the Lexus had to be extricated from her vehicle, which took about 10 minutes. She was then rushed to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries.
The driver of the Toyota was identified as an adult male who was not hurt in the crash. He was arrested and it is believed that he was under the influence at the time.
All lanes of traffic were blocked in the area for about an hour as police worked to clear the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
