Westminster, CA – Critical Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident on Kalamath Dr

Westminster, CA (June 29, 2022) – Around 6:15 a.m. on the morning of Wednesday, June 29, a critical hit-and-run pedestrian accident took place in Westminster.

According to Westminster officials, the accident happened at the intersection of Kalamath Drive and Iroquois Road. A woman between 30 to 35 years old was crossing a street at the intersection when she was suddenly struck by a silver Ford Explorer traveling through the area. Police confirmed that traffic became heavier in the area because of construction that has been happening.

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other Westminster officials were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. Police confirmed that the pedestrian was walking her dogs at the time. She was severely injured and rushed to the ICU for treatment. She is expected to survive her injuries.

Police looked at surveillance cameras and found that the victim was looking both ways before the accident. The driver prompted her to run across the street and then struck her, fleeing the scene. It is not known if police have found the driver responsible for the collision.

No further details have been released but the investigation into the collision continues.

Our thoughts go out to the party injured in this accident with hopes of a full recovery.
