Fatal Car Accidents in California

Every day thousands of people are involved in accidents. It’s something that no one ever expects as they venture out for the day, but it is the sad reality for many that leaves a lasting impact on their lives. Accidents happen more frequently in California than in any other state. California has many densely populated regions with some of the most congested roadways. A whopping more than 27 million vehicles are registered in the state and flood California’s roads each day with traffic, causing long commutes and traffic jams.

Of the many accidents that happen each day, many sadly result in serious injuries or fatalities. Approximately 4,000 people die in traffic accidents each year in California, which has steadily increased over the years. Accidents largely occur due to drivers’ negligence, including texting while driving, speeding, or impaired driving. Reckless driving dramatically increases a driver’s risk of being in an accident and the chances of causing great harm to yourself or someone else.

When your loved one is killed in an accident caused by someone else a wrongful death claim can be filed on their behalf by their next of kin. Oftentimes the loss of a family member causes the surviving family to incur various expenses. These may include medical bills, funeral costs, and lost future earnings. A wrongful death suit can help pay for the bills and other financial pressures that are piling up, and allow you to grieve without the added stress of strained finances.
