Westminster, CA (November 3, 2023) – On Friday, November 3, several people were reportedly hurt, and traffic was snarled for more than an hour following what appeared to be a rear-end collision in the Westminster region.
At around 6:15 p.m., the multi-vehicle crash occurred in the eastbound lanes of State Route 91, according to troopers with the California Highway Patrol.
Emergency medical services were dispatched to the scene, located near the Orangethorpe Avenue off-ramp. At this time, the number of casualties and the severity of their injuries are unknown, although officials say that at least one person was sent to a nearby hospital.
The cause behind the crash is currently being investigated by Westminster officers, together with the CHP.
Our thoughts and best wishes for a full recovery are with the injured victims and their families.
When it comes to traffic and injuries or fatalities on the road, Southern California is near the top. The millions of cars on the road every day contribute to congestion and accidents. Southern California is home to some of the most significant highways in the state. Highway travel is typically the most popular option because of the greater maximum speeds that may be obtained there.
However, incidents involving serious injuries are more likely to happen at greater speeds because vehicles on these roads and interstates have less time to react to rapid changes in road conditions or risks. Other main causes of car accidents in California include drivers who are distracted, texting, driving while impaired, driving when tired or exhausted, following too closely, or disobeying traffic regulations.
