Southern California is one of the most congested and dangerous places to drive in the country. Every day, millions of vehicles flood the roads and cause traffic jams and accidents. There are many freeways in Southern California, which are essential to mobility throughout the region. It is often a preferred method for commuting because of the higher speeds that can be traveled on the freeway. However, the higher freeway speeds bring an increased risk of accidents with severe injuries since vehicles have less time to react to sudden situations. Other behaviors that often lead to accidents in California include distracted driving, texting while driving, impaired driving, fatigued driving, tailgating, and failing to follow traffic laws.
