Garden Grove, CA – Update: Trung Tram Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Crash on 22 Fwy

Garden Grove, CA (July 5, 2022) – A man was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident in Garden Grove on Saturday night, July 2. The man has since been identified by officials.

According to California Highway Patrol officials, the collision happened on Saturday night on the 22 Freeway. A man was walking in the area near the center divider of the highway when he was suddenly struck by a vehicle near Brookhurst Street. It is believed that the driver remained at the scene of the crash.

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian, who has since been identified as 38-year-old Trung Tram, was seriously injured in the accident. He was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to his injuries.

Due to the severity of the accident, a large portion of the roadway was blocked until police cleared the scene. Police did not say if the driver was charged for their role in the accident.

No further details have been released. The investigation into the accident remains ongoing.
