Orange County, CA - Truck Collision, Injuries Shut Down SB 57

Orange Co, CA – Truck Collision, Injuries Shut Down SB 57

Orange County, CA (March 25, 2024) – A big rig was involved in a crash and overturned onto the opposite side of the 57 Freeway, colliding into several cars in the Brea area Monday morning. According to the California Highway Patrol’s traffic log, the incident happened around 8:00 a.m. at Yorba Linda Boulevard.

The big rig was going northbound when the incident occurred, and up to five additional vehicles were involved, according to the CHP traffic log. Nobody was killed, but it’s unclear how many victims involved suffered serious injuries. By 11:00 a.m., the southbound side of the freeway remained completely shut down. At least two northbound lanes were also closed, though an estimated reopening time was not available.

Our thoughts are extended to the injured victims and their loved ones. We hope for their complete recovery.

Truck Accidents in California

Large commercial trucks are regularly seen on California’s highways. California already has some of the longest commutes and busiest highways in the country, and trucks further add to this congestion. Unfortunately, trucks are regularly involved in accidents in California. Since tractor-trailers are much larger than other road vehicles, they can be much more difficult to control and maneuver. Given their massive size, they can cause a lot of damage when involved in an accident, which makes the risk of someone involved sustaining serious injury very high.

After an accident, a truck company’s main goal is to minimize the amount of money they have to pay out on a claim by either denying liability or trying to shift blame. Many parties can be at fault when there is a truck accident, including the driver, trucking company, manufacturer, or cargo loaders, to name just a few.

The process of assessing fault in truck accident cases is often even more difficult than in crashes involving regular passenger vehicles. This is because there are typically other parties involved in truck accidents, from the truck’s driver to the conglomerate that is contracting the truck for their company. For these reasons and more, it is highly recommended that you have a truck accident attorney with extensive experience to review your case and assess your legal options.
