Palmdale, CA – Pedestrian Killed in Accident at 25th St E & Ave S
Palmdale, CA (October 21, 2022) – On Wednesday night, October 19, an accident was reported in Palmdale involving two vehicles and a pedestrian that tragically resulted in the pedestrian’s death.
According to reports from the California Highway Patrol, the accident occurred when a vehicle was traveling east on Avenue S at high speeds heading towards 25th Street East in Los Angeles. Another car was stopped at a traffic light at this intersection. The speeding car slammed into the stopped vehicle at Avenue S and 25th Street East. The force of the impact caused both cars to continue traveling onto the Palmdale sidewalk where a male pedestrian was selling balloons. The cars hit the male pedestrian and one car continued and crashed into a utility pole also, before coming to a stop. The pedestrian sustained very serious injuries as a result of the collision.
Paramedics were immediately called and arrived on the scene within minutes and assessed the pedestrian’s injuries and provided medical care. The pedestrian sustained very severe injuries and was rushed by ambulance to Antelope Valley Hospital. Sadly, the pedestrian’s injuries were too severe, and he passed away at the hospital. The pedestrian’s name has not been released at this time, pending notification of his next of kin. He is described as a man in his 20’s or 30’s.
The paramedics treated the occupants of the vehicles at the scene. The driver of the vehicle that caused the crash was transported by ambulance for treatment of undisclosed injuries. There is no information at this time as to the driver of the other vehicle and if they sustained injuries in the accident.
Police are still investigating the circumstances leading up to the crash. Officers closed the intersection of 25th Street and Avenue S for several hours as the victims were treated, police conducted their investigation, and crews cleared the wreckage.
