Wasco, CA (October 19, 2022) – On Monday morning, October 17, a serious accident was reported in Wasco that tragically killed two people and seriously injured others.

According to California Highway Patrol, the driver of an Infiniti was traveling southbound on Corcoran Road, north of McCombs Road. A man was driving a Kia northbound on Corcoran Road. According to the CHP, for reasons that are unknown at this time, the Infiniti drifted into the oncoming lane of traffic and collided head-on with the Kia. The Kia spun around and came to a rest on the right shoulder of the road. The Infiniti continued traveling across the southbound lane and crashed into a fence before coming to a rest. Fatal Car Accidents in California

No one ever gets into their vehicle to travel somewhere expecting to get into a car accident. An accident is the last thing on anyone’s mind. Unfortunately, being in an accident is the reality for more and more Californians. Many accidents are tragic and result in someone losing their life. In California, more than 3,500 people die in car accidents each year. Many of these fatal accidents happen because of someone’s negligent actions, which may include texting while driving, speeding, or impaired driving. Research indicates that more than one-third of all road fatalities in the US are caused by speeding drivers. All of these reckless choices increase a driver’s risk of being in an accident and causing bodily harm to someone else.

When your loved one is killed by someone’s negligent actions a wrongful death claim can be filed on their behalf. Oftentimes the loss of a family member causes a financial burden to the surviving family members. There are many types of compensation available to the surviving family including:

  • Funeral, burial, and/or cremation costs
  • Medical bills for the deceased
  • Lost earnings and loss of future financial support
  • Loss of health insurance coverage
  • Loss of companionship, guidance, and emotional support
  • Grief, mental anguish, and other psychological impacts

An experienced wrongful death attorney can walk you through the process of filing a claim and help you handle these important matters.
