Camp Pendleton, CA –Motorcyclist Killed in Collision with Horse Trailer on I-5
Camp Pendleton, CA (August 20, 2022) – Shortly after 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning, August 17, in Camp Pendleton, CA a motorcycle was involved in a collision with a horse trailer that resulted in the death of the motorcyclist.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the accident happened on the southbound side of I-5 near Las Pulgas Road when a motorcycle and a horse trailer, which was being towed by a pickup truck, entered the same space in the roadway and collided.
The victim, a 20-year-old man from Lakewood, was thrown from the motorcycle and suffered severe injuries. He sadly died from his injuries sustained in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the horse trailer, a 29-year-old man, did not sustain any injuries.
The cause of the deadly collision remains under investigation by local authorities.
As a result of the crash, multiple lanes of the highway were shut down for almost two hours, as crews cleaned up the wreckage and tended to the victim.
