Being in a car accident is a stressful event. Especially if you’re injured, you may worry more about how you will pay for your medical care, expenses, and lost wages if you can’t work for some time. Many victims of hit-and-run accidents don’t know that they are still entitled to compensation for their medical expenses, lost wages, and pain and suffering as a result of the accident, even when the at-fault other driver leaves the scene. This is typically covered under California’s uninsured motorist coverage (UM) that each driver has under their own insurance policy. An experienced car accident attorney can help you navigate the legal system to get you the most compensation.
If you or a family member were in a hit-and-run accident you should speak to an experienced car accident lawyer right away, who can walk you through the process of what is to come and help you understand your rights and what you may be entitled to as compensation for your suffering.
