San Juan Capistrano, CA – One Injured in Car Accident on Ortega Hwy
San Juan Capistrano, CA (April 21, 2022) – One person sustained injuries in a car accident that took place in San Juan Capistrano on Thursday morning, April 21.
According to California Highway Patrol officials, the accident happened around 7:48 a.m. on the Ortega Highway around the area of La Pata Avenue. Several vehicles were traveling in the area when one or more lost control, causing the vehicles to collide with each other. The involved vehicles sustained severe damages and had to be towed from the scene.
Several local responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One person, who has not yet been identified, sustained injuries in the accident. The party was taken to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries, though their condition is not yet known.
Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked in the area until 8:55 a.m. This led to congestion and delays for the hour.
