Santa Ana, CA – Injuries Reported in Car Accident on SR-57 Near Chapman Ave

Santa Ana, CA (May 5, 2022) – Injuries were reported in a serious car accident that took place on a major Santa Ana highway on Thursday night, May 5.

California Highway Patrol officials confirmed that the accident happened around 10:04 p.m. in the southbound lanes of SR-57 around the area of Chapman Avenue. One or more vehicles were traveling in the southbound lanes when they suddenly collided due to unknown reasons. The involved vehicles were heavily damaged and had to be removed from the scene by tow trucks.

Santa Ana medics and fire crews were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. Injured victims were seen being cared for by paramedics at the scene of the crash. The parties were rushed to local hospitals for treatment.

Nearly all southbound lanes of traffic were blocked in the area until police cleared the scene.

California Highway Patrol officials continue their investigation into the circumstances of the collision at this time.
