Deaths of Orange County Pedestrians

Residents of Orange County are taking advantage of the region’s mild temperature and beautiful scenery by walking more. Sadly, more pedestrians are killed in traffic accidents than drivers or passengers. In addition, California is among the states with the highest rate of pedestrians injured in automobile collisions. Seven thousand one hundred twenty-seven pedestrians were killed in California between 2008 and 2019. During this time period, the number of deaths in California rose by 34.4% overall and by 34.5% for pedestrians.

In addition, the Orange County coroner’s office reports that 375 pedestrians were killed by automobiles in Orange County over the five years concluding on the final day of 2021. Statistics on pedestrian accidents in Orange County demonstrate that people who are out and about along major thoroughfares are quite vulnerable to suffering serious harm or even death.

Compared to the possibility of being hit by an automobile, a pedestrian’s life is in grave danger if they choose to cross the street. A pedestrian’s risk of being involved in an accident may be minimized by adhering to a few basic safety measures and laws of the road.

However, there may be legal options available to the family of a pedestrian killed in an accident. Filing a lawsuit against the guilty party might help you get answers about your loved one’s death and get financial recompense. You should consult a lawyer without delay because of the time-sensitive filing requirements set by insurance companies and state legislation.
