Westminster, CA (July 20, 2023) – Police in the Westminster area in Orange County reported that at least one person suffered injuries in a two-vehicle crash that happened early Thursday morning, July 20.

At around 1:15 a.m., troopers with the California Highway Patrol released a SIG alert and an initial accident report that described a collision on westbound State Road 91 near Raymond Avenue. Two motorists apparently crashed in the right lanes of traffic, just west of the Raymond off-ramp.

Paramedics treated all injured victims at the scene of the collision, though the total number of people involved and the severity of their injuries remain unclear at this time.

Authorities are now investigating the cause and surrounding circumstances of the accident.

Our thoughts go out to the victims and their families. We hope for their complete recovery.

Motor Vehicle Accidents in California

It’s hardly surprising that officials in the Golden State record a high percentage of traffic accidents year after year, given that most Californians rely on their own personal automobiles for transit around our state. Since there are more than 27 million automobiles in California alone, we have some of the most dangerous highways in the country.

Heavy traffic and massive, multi-lane freeways traverse our main metros, from Los Angeles to Anaheim and beyond, contributing to daily lengthy commutes and traffic jams. It’s quite clear that car crashes involving California drivers are much too common. Even though accidents occur often, no one ever prepares for the aftermath or has any idea what to do in the aftermath.

Most of these risks might be avoided if drivers were more vigilant and aware. Drivers also have a moral and legal duty to use due care on the road so as not to put others at risk. Although this legal duty of care exists, it is probable that it has been breached in the event of an accident. That is to say, drivers who are reckless or irresponsible may be held financially accountable for victims’ various losses.

Automobile accident victims disproportionately sustain life-altering injuries that need ongoing, high-priced medical care. However, a competent attorney can help you understand your rights and alternatives after a vehicle accident injury.
