Westminster, CA – I-405 Scene of Auto Accident, Injuries Near Goldenwest St

Westminster, CA (July 19, 2023) – Police in the Westminster area of Orange County reported that at least one person was hurt in a two-vehicle collision that happened on Wednesday evening, July 19.

At around 7:50 p.m. local time, troopers with the California Highway Patrol released a SIG alert and an initial accident report that detailed a collision on northbound Interstate 405 near the exit and off-ramp to Goldenwest Street. Witnesses reportedly saw two or three motorists collide in the right-hand traffic lanes before authorities were dispatched.

Paramedics assessed and treated all injured victims at the scene of the collision, though the total number of victims involved and the severity of their injuries remain unclear at this time. Officials did not say if any of the victims were transferred to a local medical center for further care.

Authorities are now investigating the cause and surrounding circumstances of the accident.

Our thoughts go out to the victims and their families. We hope for their complete recovery.

Multi-Vehicle Wrecks in California

Since most Californians depend on their own cars for mobility, it is not surprising that the state has a high rate of traffic accidents, given its large population. In addition, with over 27 million cars on the road, California is one of the most hazardous states in which to travel. Daily lengthy commutes and traffic jams often lead to an increased number of accidents.

Needless to say, accidents involving California drivers are, unfortunately, all too prevalent. But even while the rate of accidents rises year over year, no one ever wants or expects to be involved in a collision.

However, if drivers were more watchful and attentive, most of these dangers might be avoided. Moreover, drivers have a moral and legal obligation to use reasonable caution while on the road not to endanger others, also known as a “duty of care.” This legal duty of care has likely been broken in the case of an accident, and negligent drivers may be responsible for an array of damages.
