According to a recent article in the Laguna Beach Coastline Pilot, a 65-year-old woman was sent to the hospital with injuries after a wreck near Glenneyre Street and Calliope Street in Laguna Beach on Wednesday, May 1, 2013. According to police officials, the woman was driving a Nissan Rogue in the southbound lane of Glenneyre around 9:17 a.m. when she was rear-ended by a Mercedes E550 driven by 58-year-old Michael Elliot Tomson. The 65-year-old woman who was injured in this crash has not yet been identified, but it is known that she is a resident of Santa Ana.

According to Captain Jason Kravetz, Tomson, a Laguna Beach resident who is known for co-founding popular surf wear company Gotcha, was believed by officers at the scene to be under the influence. Police charged Tomson with possession of controlled substance, DUI, and being under the influence of drugs. Tomson has also previous history of charges, including a previous DUI.

Tomson was not injured in the collision. The driver of the Rogue sustained minor to moderate injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment, but no further information about her condition was available at the time of the report. A section of Glenneyre Street remained closed for about two hours Wednesday morning while the wreck was investigated.

Unfortunately, it seems like motorists are injured in accidents across Orange County every day. The Orange County accident attorneys with Russell & Lazarus hope the unidentified woman who was injured in this accident experiences a fast and full recovery.
