Costa Mesa, CA – Multi-Vehicle Accident on 405 Fwy Leads to Injuries
Costa Mesa, CA (January 14, 2022) – At 9:30 a.m. on Friday morning, January 14, a hit-and-run accident occurred on a highway in Costa Mesa.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident occurred on the 405 Freeway. Three vehicles were traveling on the highway in the area when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not fully known. One of the vehicles fled the scene and another collided with a pole on the side of the highway. The accident led to extensive damages to both involved vehicles that stayed at the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those with injuries. One person in a vehicle that remained at the scene was injured as a result. The injured party was rushed to Orange County Global Medical Center for treatment.
Police did not confirm if the party who fled the scene was caught. The roadway was blocked in multiple lanes for a period of time as police worked to clear the scene.
