Roadways in Los Angeles and the surrounding areas are some of the busiest and most dangerous in the country. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), over 3,500 were killed in fatal car accidents in California in 2018. There are many reasons for accidents to happen in California, but reckless and negligent driving is a main factor. With such heavy congestion on California’s roads, drivers speed and break other rules of the road to decrease their commute times. Reports indicate that more than one-third of all road fatalities in the US are caused by reckless driving.
