Orange, CA – Woman Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Accident on SR-241

Orange, CA (March 7, 2022) – A woman was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident that took place in Orange on Sunday night, March 6.

California Highway Patrol officials confirmed that the accident happened at 9:06 p.m. in the northbound lanes of SR-241 around the area of Santiago Canyon Road. An adult female was attempting to hitchhike in the area. She allegedly walked onto the road with her thumb up when she was suddenly struck by a passing vehicle. It is believed that the vehicle remained at the scene.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other local responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The woman, who has not yet been identified, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to her injuries.

Due to the severity of the accident, all northbound lanes of traffic were blocked in the area for a period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.

No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
