Garden Grove, CA – One Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Accident on SR-22 Fwy
Garden Grove, CA (July 3, 2022) – On Saturday night, July 2, one person was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident that took place in Garden Grove.
According to local officials, the accident happened around 8:56 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of SR-22 Freeway around the area of Brookhurst Street. A male pedestrian was walking near the divider in the area. A vehicle was also traveling in the area and struck the pedestrian due to reasons that are not yet known, then coming to a rest in the slow lane.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were immediately called to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian, who has only been identified as an adult male, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. Nobody else was hurt as a result of the collision.
Due to the severity of the accident, all eastbound lanes of traffic were blocked on the highway for several hours. Police worked to clear the scene so traffic could return to normal.
