Huntington Beach, CA (July 22, 2022) – A plane crashed into the beach off Huntington Beach on Friday, leaving one person injured. At around 2, p.m., on July 21, emergency crews were notified that a plane crashhad occurred off the shores near Huntington Beach.
Reports show that a single-engine Piper Cub towing a banner crashed into the ocean off Beach Boulevard and Newland Street during the early afternoon hours. The plane was reportedly promoting a tequila brand to the shore before the plane went down. The plane had one person on board at the time of the accident.
Several people at the beach, including one lifeguard, entered the water to rescue the downed pilot. The person was pulled to shore and provided medical aid before emergency crews arrived. The victim was then transported to a local hospital, where they were admitted for care.
