Fatal Car Accidents in California

The number one reason car accidents happen in California is due to reckless and negligent driving or driver error. The reality is that a majority of these accidents are preventable if drivers would operate their vehicles dutifully and according to traffic laws. Some of the most common negligent driving activities include texting while driving, speeding, or impaired driving. Reckless driving dramatically increases a driver’s risk of being in an accident and causing great harm to themselves or someone else. People need to realize the great risk they are taking on when they answer a text message or travel above the speed limit or make other poor choices.

Crashes occurring on freeways are some of the most catastrophic. As the car travels out of control after a collision, it can spin or roll, and it wreaks havoc on the occupants of the vehicles involved. The occupants can suffer severe head trauma, concussions, broken bones, back and neck injuries, severe cuts, and lost limbs. These injuries will leave a lasting impact on the person’s life and require extensive medical care. Victims may also become paralyzed or killed as a result.

Losing a loved one is never easy to deal with. When someone is killed by another person’s negligence, the victim’s next of kin may file a wrongful death claim on their behalf. An experienced wrongful death attorney can walk you through the process of filing a claim and help you recover compensation for your loss.
